#bakingwithmonica: Marble Cake

Hello dears!

You must know by now that I love baking on Sunday mornings, and if you follow my social media you might have noticed I eat Marble Cake way too often. 

So I thought I'd share the recipe with you, there you go!

Ingredients:

250g of plain flour

200g of sugar

150g of butter

3 eggs (whipped whites)

1/2 cup of milk

1 tsp of baking powder

100g of cocoa powder

This is a really easy one.. I start with separating the egg yolks from the whites. 

Mix the yolks with the sugar, then add the melted butter and mix it well. 

Incorporate the flour and baking powder and add the whipped egg whites. 

Add a little bit of the milk, not too much, the batter needs to be on the thicker side. 

Then divide it in two parts and add the cocoa powder into one of them. I always add a bit more milk to this half so they both get similar consistencies to assure they don't mix while baking.

Grease and flour a baking pan and start layering both batters to create the marble effect. 

Bake it at 180º C around 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
